Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The clothing in indie music videos is usually casual and is not usually formal. In my final music video i have made sure that i stick to this convention as i feel like this one should be stuck too as it links in with the band itself and how the band is and not just in the music video. Theses are screen shots of my music video clothing.

Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

As the genre in which my music video falls into is indie music i had to keep to the codes and conventions that are typically assosiated with this genre. As i researched into it, they usually have live performances of the band playing. My music video is different to this as although they are playing, it is not a live performance as usually they are at gigs. That would give the audience a feel for what that band is like and how natural they are with their music. Also having them at a live performance it gives the audience a feel of actually being at a gig and usually when people who are interested in music think of gigs, they are enjoyable, so it would bring joy to them. Therefore my music video challenges the usual conventions in an indie music video. Here is an example of a real music video with a live performance
and here is a screenshot from my own music video which i created. I did a performance
of the band but it did not have an audience.
